Raised in rabbit against a synthetic peptide epitope within the Q203 region of human HOXA1, this unconjugated polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry. The reagent is supplied as a 50 µl vial at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide, pH approximately 7.2.

HOXA1 (Homeobox A1) is a homeodomain transcription factor best known for its role in anterior-posterior axis patterning during embryogenesis, including hindbrain segmentation, cranial neural crest cell migration, and early hematopoietic specification. The antibody detects endogenous HOXA1 in Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, supporting comparative developmental biology, neurobiology, and oncology studies.

Researchers commonly use HOXA1 reagents to investigate congenital disorders linked to HOXA1 mutations, including Bosley-Salih-Alorainy syndrome and Athabaskan brainstem dysgenesis syndrome, and to probe aberrant HOXA1 re-expression in acute myeloid leukemia and certain solid tumors. Because the reagent is polyclonal, it recognizes multiple epitopes on the target, which can be advantageous when signal from a single monoclonal clone is limiting. The unconjugated format allows users to pair it with their preferred secondary antibody and detection chemistry for WB on whole-cell lysates or IHC on tissue sections.
