This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com specifically targets the Hox-A1 homeodomain transcription factor, encoded by the HOXA1 gene and known to govern anterior-posterior patterning during vertebrate embryogenesis. Raised in rabbit hosts, the reagent is supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, is unconjugated, and has been validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows. The antibody recognizes an epitope in the region of residue Q203 and cross-reacts with samples from human, mouse, and rat origin, supporting comparative developmental and disease-model studies.

HOXA1 is the most 3-prime, anteriorly expressed gene of the HOXA cluster and plays a critical part in hindbrain segmentation, cranial nerve formation, and inner ear morphogenesis. Loss-of-function mutations in this gene are linked to Bosley-Salih-Alorainy syndrome and Athabaskan brainstem dysgenesis syndrome, making Hox-A1 a target of active interest in neurodevelopmental research. Investigators studying congenital craniofacial disorders, stem cell differentiation along neural lineages, or transcriptional regulation during early organogenesis can apply this antibody to detect endogenous protein in tissue sections and whole-cell lysates.

Each 100 µl aliquot provides ample reagent for multiple immunoblotting or staining experiments, and the buffered sodium azide formulation acts as a preservative to limit microbial contamination across repeated handling. Short-term storage at 4°C is suitable for active use, and the small sample volume required per assay helps conserve material across longitudinal studies.
