Located primarily in the nucleus, HNRNPU (heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein U), also known as SAF-A, is an abundant DNA- and RNA-binding protein that anchors chromatin loops to scaffold/matrix attachment regions and packages newly transcribed pre-mRNA. It plays structural roles in organizing chromatin architecture, regulating transcription, and processing primary RNA transcripts, including splicing and 3' end formation. Dysregulation of HNRNPU has been reported in neurodevelopmental disorders and several cancers, making it a target of interest in cell biology and oncology research.

This unconjugated mouse monoclonal IgG antibody (clone A9907) is raised against human HNRNPU and is validated for Western blot detection of the endogenous protein. Supplied as 50 µl of liquid in a single-use vial, the reagent should be stored refrigerated for short-term use, with aliquots frozen for longer-term stability. On standard SDS-PAGE immunoblots of human cell lysates the antibody detects a band near 120 kDa, consistent with the molecular weight of full-length HNRNPU.

Researchers use this reagent from Antibodies.com to probe HNRNPU expression, subcellular fractionation, and chromatin association in human cell lines, pairing it with anti-mouse secondary reagents for chemiluminescent readouts. It is intended for research use only and is not validated for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
