High Mobility Group Box 1 (HMGB1) is a ubiquitous non-histone chromatin-binding protein of roughly 25 kDa that also acts as a damage-associated molecular pattern (DAMP) when released extracellularly during cellular stress, necrosis, or immune activation. This unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and recognizes HMGB1 across human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting reproducible western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows. Each vial contains 100 µl of antibody supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS buffer with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, ready for direct labeling or downstream immunodetection applications. HMGB1 translocates from the nucleus to the cytoplasm and into the extracellular space under stress, where it engages TLR4 and RAGE receptors, making accurate detection valuable for sepsis, sterile inflammation, cancer progression, neurodegeneration, and tissue-repair signaling research. The reagent is intended for research use only and performs with standard chromogenic, chemiluminescent, and fluorescent detection chemistries.
