Anti-HMBS Antibody

Raised in rabbit against HMBS (hydroxymethylbilane synthase), this unconjugated polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets a key enzyme in the heme biosynthesis pathway. Mutations in HMBS are linked to acute intermittent porphyria, making the reagent useful for studies of porphyrin metabolism, erythroid differentiation, and hepatic heme synthesis. The antibody reacts with human, mouse, and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on fixed tissue sections. Supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a 100 µl vial, it should be stored frozen at -20°C in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles.
