Anti-HLA-DQB1 / 2 Antibody

The HLA-DQB1 locus encodes a highly polymorphic beta subunit that pairs with the HLA-DR alpha chain to present exogenous peptides to CD4+ T lymphocytes. Polymorphisms in this gene are clinically significant in autoimmunity research, including type 1 diabetes susceptibility and celiac disease, where specific HLA-DQB1 alleles are routinely genotyped as part of disease-risk profiling. The paralogous HLA-DQB2 locus is more rarely expressed but shares sequence similarity with DQB1, which is why this reagent is described as recognizing both targets.

Because the host species is rabbit, secondary detection must use anti-rabbit IgG conjugates; the unconjugated format leaves the choice of HRP, biotin, or fluorophore open for downstream assays.
