This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against the beta subunit of the HLA-DP class II major histocompatibility complex, an antigen-presenting heterodimer encoded within the highly polymorphic MHC region on chromosome 6p21.32. HLA-DPB1 plays a pivotal role in presenting extracellularly derived peptide antigens to CD4+ helper T cells, and sequence variation at this locus is well documented in transplant immunology, where donor-recipient DPB1 mismatches influence graft-versus-host disease and graft-versus-leukemia outcomes in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated rabbit antiserum validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human tissue and is reactive with the native human target. Researchers studying MHC class II expression, antigen presentation in dendritic cells and B lymphocytes, or the contribution of DPB1 alleles to autoimmune susceptibility, transplant matching, and leukemic disease association will find this reagent useful for both protein detection in cell lysates and localization studies in fixed tissue sections.
