The LY5.1 monoclonal antibody targets the heavy chain of human MHC class I molecules (HLA-A, HLA-B, and HLA-C), which are constitutively expressed on virtually all nucleated cells and play a central role in presenting endogenous peptide fragments to cytotoxic CD8+ T lymphocytes.
