The HIV-1 p24 capsid protein is a 24 kDa structural component encoded by the viral gag gene, and this Antibodies.com polyclonal reagent is raised in rabbits against recombinant p24 for use in HIV-1 research. Recommended applications include Western blot, dot blot, immunoprecipitation, and ELISA, supporting detection of viral capsid antigen in infected cell lysates and culture supernatants. The antibody is supplied as a 100 µl liquid aliquot of unconjugated IgG and should be stored at -20 °C in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve binding activity. Researchers commonly use anti-p24 reagents to monitor viral replication kinetics, validate pseudovirus production, and characterize early infection events before seroconversion.
