This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com recognizes Histone H4, one of the four core histones that assemble with DNA into nucleosomes. It is supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, in a 50 µl vial.

The antibody is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry applications and cross-reacts with samples from human, mouse, and rat. Because the reagent is unconjugated, it adapts to user-selected detection chemistries, including fluorescent, enzymatic, or biotinylated secondary reagents. Polyclonal recognition of multiple epitopes on H4 supports studies of post-translational modifications such as lysine acetylation, lysine methylation, and arginine methylation that regulate chromatin structure, transcription, and DNA damage responses.

For handling, store refrigerated in the original vial and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles by aliquoting on first use; the included sodium azide acts as a microbial preservative during routine bench handling. The target, Histone H4, is a roughly 102 amino acid protein highly conserved across eukaryotes, useful across model organism studies of gene regulation and epigenetics.
