Anti-Histone H4 (acetyl K8) Antibody

A rabbit polyclonal IgG antibody from Antibodies.com recognises Histone H4 when acetylated at Lys8 (acetyl K8). The reagent is unconjugated, supplied as a liquid, and purified by affinity chromatography. It is formulated in Phosphate Buffered Saline (pH 7.3) containing 50% glycerol and 0.02% sodium azide, with a target protein molecular weight of 11 kDa. The immunogen is a synthetic acetylated peptide centred on K8 of human Histone H4 (accession NP_003529.1), with sequence GGKGL.

Validated applications include Western blot (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence (ICC/IF), immunoprecipitation (IP), chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) and ChIP-seq. Reactivity is reported with Human, Mouse and Rat samples. Recommended dilutions are WB 1:500–1:1,000, IHC 1:50–1:200, ICC/IF 1:500–1:1,000, IP 1:200–1:500, and ChIP and ChIP-seq 1:20–1:50. In a supporting IHC image the antibody was applied at 1:20 to paraffin-embedded human kidney, mouse liver and rat kidney following high-pressure antigen retrieval with 10 mM citrate buffer pH 6.0. A representative Western blot shows use at 1:1,000 on lysates from NIH/3T3 and C6 cells treated with TSA (1 µM at 37 °C for 18 hours), with a goat anti-rabbit IgG H&L HRP secondary at 1:10,000 and ECL detection with a 30-second exposure.
