Anti-Histone H3 (R2) Antibody

This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com was raised in rabbit against Histone H3 and targets the region encompassing arginine 2 (R2), a residue that participates in histone post-translational modifications implicated in chromatin regulation and gene expression control. The reagent is supplied unconjugated, giving researchers the flexibility to pair it with custom fluorophore, biotin, or HRP labeling chemistries as their detection workflow requires.

Validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC), the antibody is reactive with human, mouse, and rat samples - three species that together cover the majority of chromatin biology models used in basic and translational research. Each vial contains 50 µL of antibody at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline at pH approximately 7.2, with 0.05% sodium azide included as a preservative to inhibit microbial growth during storage.

For short-term use, keep refrigerated. For longer-term storage, aliquot to limit freeze-thaw cycling, optionally supplement with glycerol for cryoprotection, and freeze at -20 °C. Because sodium azide can interfere with some downstream chemistries, exchange into an azide-free buffer if downstream labeling or conjugation steps require clean primary amine chemistry.
