Phosphorylation of Histone H3 at serine 10 is a hallmark of mitotic chromosome condensation and is widely used by researchers as a marker of cell division and chromatin remodelling. Antibodies.com offers this affinity-purified polyclonal antibody, raised in rabbit, in an unconjugated IgG format that is reactive against human, mouse, and rat samples. The reagent is supplied as a 50 µl aliquot suited to western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows, where it enables visualisation of the phospho-S10 modification on acid-extracted histones or fixed tissue sections. Because the phospho-epitope is sensitive to phosphatase activity, lysates should be prepared with appropriate inhibitors and the antibody should be refrigerated with single-use aliquots reserved to limit freeze-thaw cycles. This makes it a practical tool for studies in cell cycle regulation, epigenetics, and cancer research where mitotic index or transcriptional activation is being examined.
