This polymerized polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com specifically recognizes Histone H3 when mono-methylated at arginine 17 (H3R17me1), an epigenetic mark associated with active transcription and gene regulation. Raised in rabbit, the unconjugated reagent is supplied in a vial of 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a stabilizer. Aliquot the glycerol stock on first use to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Validation covers Western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, immunoprecipitation, chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP), and ChIP-seq, supporting both targeted protein detection on blots and tissue sections and genome-wide profiling of this modification. The antibody cross-reacts with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, making it applicable to comparative chromatin studies across these standard model systems.

H3R17 mono-methylation is deposited by PRMT-family arginine methyltransferases, notably CARM1/PRMT4, and is enriched at active promoters where it contributes to the chromatin landscape governing cell identity, differentiation, and stimulus response. Researchers apply this reagent to track chromatin-state changes during development, in cancer and other disease models, and after pharmacological treatment, often pairing ChIP-seq output with transcriptomic data to link the mark to specific gene-expression programs.
