Anti-Histone H3 (Di-Methyl K9) Antibody

Supplied by Antibodies.com as a 50 µL aliquot of an affinity-purified polyclonal antiserum raised in rabbit against histone H3 di-methylated at lysine 9 (K9me2), this reagent is validated for chromatin-biology workflows spanning Western blot (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence (IF), immunoprecipitation (IP), chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) and ChIP-sequencing (ChIP-seq). The host is rabbit and the clonality is polyclonal (IgG isotype), with no fluorophore or enzyme conjugated. Recommended starting dilutions are 1:500–1:1,000 for WB, 1:50–1:200 for IHC, IF and IP, and 1:50–1:200 for ChIP and ChIP-seq, while the antibody is supplied as a liquid formulation at approximately 1 mg/mL in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant. Reactivity has been confirmed on human, mouse and rat samples, and the antibody recognises the ARKST motif surrounding K9 of histone H3 (NP_003520.1), detecting endogenous H3 only when di-methylated at Lys9. The vial should be stored at –20 °C in aliquots to limit freeze/thaw cycles, and the product is intended for research use only.
