Raised in rabbit and supplied by Antibodies.com as a polyclonal reagent, this antibody specifically recognizes Histone H3 dimethylated at lysine 4 (H3K4me2), an active chromatin mark linked to transcriptionally permissive gene promoters. The unconjugated preparation is formulated at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, supplied as a 100 µl vial suited for both short-term bench use and longer-term frozen storage. Cross-reactivity has been confirmed in Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, making the reagent appropriate for comparative studies across these commonly used mammalian model systems.

Validated applications cover the major antibody-based readouts used in epigenetics research: Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluorescence, Immunoprecipitation, Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (ChIP), and ChIP-seq. Researchers profiling histone methylation dynamics, mapping transcription factor recruitment at active promoters, or characterizing chromatin remodeling complexes can deploy this reagent on whole-cell lysates, formalin-fixed tissue sections, permeabilized cells, and sheared chromatin. Because the stock contains 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, aliquoting on receipt is recommended to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles and preserve binding activity over the working life of the vial.
