This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against histone H3 di-methylated at lysine 27 (H3K27me2), a repressive chromatin mark deposited by Polycomb repressive complex 2 (PRC2) and linked to transcriptional silencing, X-chromosome inactivation, and developmental gene regulation in embryonic and adult tissues.

The unconjugated antibody is supplied as 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, a glycerol-based liquid formulation intended for storage at -20 °C with minimal freeze-thaw damage to the vial. Epigenetics and chromatin biology labs use it to map the genomic distribution of H3K27me2 by ChIP and ChIP-seq, confirm global mark abundance by Western blot, and localize the modification in tissue sections by immunohistochemistry and on fixed cells by immunofluorescence.

Applications cover WB, IHC, IF, IP, ChIP, and ChIP-seq on human, mouse, and rat samples. The polyclonal host produces a mixed epitope response that tolerates neighboring post-translational modifications on the H3 tail better than narrow-specificity monoclonal clones, which is useful when probing the broader H3K27 methylation landscape (me1, me2, me3) in parallel experiments and when working with samples of variable modification stoichiometry.
