Raised in rabbit and supplied by Antibodies.com as a polyclonal, unconjugated primary antibody, this reagent specifically recognizes Histone H3 when di-methylated at Lys14. Each vial contains 50 µl of antibody at 1 mg/ml, formulated in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a stabilizer, and the preparation has been affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen to a purity of greater than 95% by SDS-PAGE. The target runs at approximately 15 kDa, and the antibody has been validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, immunoprecipitation, chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) and ChIP-seq workflows across human, mouse and rat samples. The immunogen is a synthetic KLH-conjugated peptide derived from residues 1–100 of human Histone H3 bearing the di-methyl modification at K14, ensuring that the reagent detects endogenous Histone H3 only when di-methylated at Lys14 and not the unmodified or otherwise modified forms. As a polyclonal reagent from a rabbit host, it provides broad epitope coverage within the modified N-terminal tail of Histone H3, making it suitable for studies of epigenetic histone marks in chromatin biology, transcription regulation and ChIP-based genome-wide analyses.
