Within eukaryotic chromatin, the histone octamer wraps roughly 147 base pairs of DNA, and Histone H3 sits at the heart of that complex as a substrate for acetylation, methylation, and phosphorylation. Antibodies.com supplies this unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent raised against a peptide region spanning alanine 7, intended as a nuclear marker in tissue-based chromatin studies. The 50 µl vial is formulated at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, ready to dilute for immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections. Validated reactivity with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples makes the reagent a useful reference stain in comparative epigenetics, often paired with modification-specific antibodies to assess H3K4, H3K9, or H3K27 methylation states in tissue. Sodium azide is included as a preservative; for downstream conjugations the antibody can be buffer-exchanged if required.
