Anti-Histone H3.1 Antibody

The Antibodies.com Anti-Histone H3.1 Antibody is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 reagent directed against the replication-dependent histone variant H3.1, supplied as a 100 µg liquid aliquot. It selectively recognizes H3.1 and shows minimal cross-reactivity with the closely related replacement variant H3.3, allowing researchers to distinguish canonical, replication-coupled histone deposition from replication-independent incorporation. In Western blot, the antibody detects the characteristic ~17 kDa histone H3 band in acid-extracted nuclear fractions prepared from human, mouse, and rat cell lines. For optimal stability, store at -20 °C in working aliquots and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles that can compromise binding activity. This reagent is widely used in chromatin fractionation studies, cell-cycle profiling of S-phase histone deposition, and as a normalization control alongside total H3 detection in ChIP and immunoblot experiments probing epigenetic regulation.
