For studies of oxygen-responsive gene regulation, this Antibodies.com primary antibody is listed for Western blot detection of HIF1A protein in human, mouse, and rat samples. HIF1A is the oxygen-sensitive component of the HIF-1 transcription complex, which coordinates genes involved in glycolysis, angiogenesis, erythropoiesis, and adaptation to low oxygen. These properties support hypoxia-signaling, tumor-microenvironment, ischemic-injury, and metabolic-reprogramming research in cultured cells and tissue lysates.
The rabbit polyclonal IgG is unconjugated and supplied in a 50 µl vial, allowing a compatible labeled secondary antibody to be selected for chemiluminescent or fluorescent readouts. For immunoblot experiments, compare normoxic and hypoxic samples or use treatments such as cobalt chloride or deferoxamine to examine stabilization, while including matched controls. HIF1A is rapidly degraded under well-oxygenated conditions; process lysates promptly on ice with protease inhibitors, and store the antibody at -20 °C in small aliquots to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
