Raised in rabbit and purified as an unconjugated polyclonal reagent, this Antibodies.com primary antibody recognizes HGS (Hepatocyte Growth Factor-Regulated Tyrosine Kinase Substrate), a roughly 110 kDa endosomal adaptor that anchors the ESCRT-0 sorting machinery at the cytoplasmic face of early endosomes.

The reagent is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows and cross-reacts with human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting comparative work in cultured cell lines, primary cells, and fixed tissue sections. Each 100 µL vial supplies enough material for multiple rounds of probing at standard working dilutions, and the unconjugated format allows pairing with secondary reagents of the researcher's choice.

HGS binds ubiquitinated cargo such as activated EGFR and channels it into clathrin-coated microdomains of the early endosome for downstream sorting, so this antibody is commonly used to study receptor down-regulation, growth-factor signalling attenuation, viral budding, and ESCRT-dependent cargo selection. It also serves as a marker of endosome maturation and is frequently deployed in autophagy, cytokine-receptor turnover, and intracellular sorting research where ESCRT function is being interrogated by knockdown, knockout, or pharmacological perturbation.
