Anti-HGD Antibody

A polyclonal antibody raised in rabbit that targets human homogentisate 1,2-dioxygenase (HGD), the enzyme defective in alkaptonuria. Supplied by Antibodies.com as a 100 µl vial of unconjugated antiserum, this reagent is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human samples, supporting research into tyrosine catabolism and the molecular pathology of black pigment deposition in connective tissue. The antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with the HGD antigen, then affinity-purifying the polyclonal pool to deliver consistent performance across multiple applications. Because HGD is expressed primarily in liver and kidney, the antibody works well with tissue lysates and fixed sections from those organs, and it can serve as a confirmatory tool alongside genetic screens for alkaptonuria.
