Anti-HFE2 Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes human HFE2, also known as hemojuvelin, a GPI-anchored membrane protein that regulates systemic iron homeostasis by acting as a bone morphogenetic protein co-receptor on hepatocytes and influencing hepcidin expression. The antibody binds an epitope conserved across human, mouse, and rat orthologs, supporting cross-species studies of iron metabolism, hereditary hemochromatosis, and BMP-SMAD signaling pathways.

Supplied as 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as cryoprotectant, the unconjugated reagent is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows and can be paired with HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies. It is used routinely on liver and skeletal muscle tissue sections, as well as whole-cell lysates from relevant expression models.
