Anti-HFE Antibody

Raised in rabbit and affinity-purified at Antibodies.com, this polyclonal reagent targets the human HFE protein and is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated IgG. HFE encodes a MHC class I-like transmembrane glycoprotein that interacts with transferrin receptor 1 to control cellular iron homeostasis; loss-of-function variants, most notably C282Y and H63D, underlie hereditary hemochromatosis, an iron-overload disorder. The antibody is therefore relevant to researchers investigating iron metabolism, liver pathology, and the molecular genetics of hemochromatosis.

Validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed tissue, and immunofluorescence staining of cultured cells, the reagent detects endogenous human HFE in standard sample preparations.
