Anti-HEXB Antibody

From Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes HEXB, the beta subunit of lysosomal hexosaminidase. HEXB assembles with the alpha subunit (HEXA) into the heterodimeric hexosaminidase A isozyme, or homodimerizes to form hexosaminidase B, both of which cleave terminal N-acetylglucosamine and N-acetylgalactosamine residues from glycolipids such as GM2 ganglioside. Mutations that abolish HEXB function cause Sandhoff disease, a neurodegenerative lysosomal storage disorder, making accurate protein detection relevant to studies of glycosphingolipid catabolism and disease modeling.

The unconjugated reagent is supplied as 100 µl of antiserum and has been validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human-derived samples. The rabbit host allows use with a broad selection of anti-rabbit secondary reagents for chromogenic and fluorescence detection in cell culture and tissue-based workflows.
