Anti-HEXA Antibody

A rabbit polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against the alpha subunit of human lysosomal beta-hexosaminidase and is supplied as an unconjugated reagent in a 100 µl vial. Validated for western blot and ELISA workflows, the antibody shows reactivity with human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting cross-species studies of ganglioside catabolism, lysosomal biogenesis, and neurodegenerative disease research including Tay-Sachs and related GM2 gangliosidoses.

HEXA encodes the catalytic alpha chain of the heterodimeric enzyme that hydrolyses GM2 ganglioside within the lysosome, and loss-of-function mutations in this gene underlie Tay-Sachs disease. Polyclonal reagents directed against this subunit are commonly used to characterise enzyme assembly, subcellular trafficking, and residual hydrolytic activity in patient-derived fibroblasts, knockout mouse tissue, and heterologous expression systems.
