This Mouse monoclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com targets ICP27, also referred to as UL54, the essential immediate-early regulatory protein expressed by Herpes Simplex Virus. Supplied as an unconjugated, Protein G-purified preparation at 500 µg, the antibody is validated for Western blot and immunofluorescence assay (IFA) workflows used to track viral gene expression in infected cells and tissue specimens.

ICP27 is a multifunctional post-transcriptional regulator that shuttles between the nucleus and cytoplasm of infected host cells, where it modulates pre-mRNA splicing, 3’ end processing, and nuclear export of viral transcripts. Researchers working on HSV-1 and HSV-2 lytic replication and reactivation from latency use this reagent to investigate replication kinetics, the molecular interplay between ICP27 and host RNA-processing machinery, and the consequences of ICP27 mutations for viral pathogenesis. On Western blots of HSV-infected cell lysates the antibody detects the characteristic viral band, and in immunofluorescence staining of fixed infected monolayers it produces the nuclear-localized signal pattern that reflects ICP27’s role at sites of active viral transcription. The unconjugated format supports flexible labelling for downstream applications including virology research, antiviral compound screening, and characterization of herpesvirus-host interactions.
