This Mouse monoclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets HER2 (also known as ErbB2 or neu), a 185 kDa transmembrane receptor tyrosine kinase belonging to the EGFR family. HER2 is overexpressed or amplified in a subset of breast and gastric cancers, making it a critical biomarker and therapeutic target in oncology research. Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antibody, this reagent is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows and shows reactivity with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples. Researchers use anti-HER2 antibodies to characterize receptor expression levels, investigate downstream PI3K/Akt and MAPK signaling, and profile tumor biopsy material for HER2 status. The monoclonal format ensures lot-to-lot consistency and reduces background from polyclonal cross-reactivity, supporting reproducible detection in both whole-cell lysate preparations and formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections. Suitable for signal-pathway studies, cell-line authentication work, and translational cancer biology projects that require a well-characterized anti-HER2 reagent.
