This mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody, clone 70-13, targets the NS3 non-structural protein of Hepatitis C Virus. Distributed by Antibodies.com as a 100 µg lyophilised vial, the reagent is supplied unconjugated, giving flexibility across ELISA and Western Blot workflows for HCV virology research.

NS3 is a multifunctional viral enzyme combining an N-terminal serine protease with a C-terminal helicase and NTPase domain, essential for cleavage of the HCV polyprotein and unwinding of viral RNA replication intermediates. Clone 70-13 recognises a conformational epitope on NS3, so it performs well against native antigen preparations and Western Blot of gently lysed samples, while complementing ELISA capture of recombinant or virus-associated antigen.

For reconstitution, briefly centrifuge the vial and resuspend the lyophilised pellet in sterile distilled water or PBS to a working concentration, then aliquot into single-use portions to limit freeze-thaw cycles. The lyophilised antibody should be stored refrigerated until first use, and reconstituted stock is best kept frozen and protected from light. Working dilutions remain stable briefly at 4 °C with carrier protein if consumed promptly.

Specificity has been confirmed for the human hepatitis C virus target, with reactivity directed against the NS3 region of the viral polyprotein. Researchers studying viral protease function, polyprotein processing, replication complex assembly, and serological detection of HCV use this clone to discriminate infected-cell material in ELISA and WB readouts.
