Anti-Hepatitis C Virus NS3 Antibody [5]

This mouse monoclonal IgG1 reagent from Antibodies.com, designated clone [5], targets the NS3 non-structural protein of human Hepatitis C virus and is supplied as an unconjugated, lyophilised pellet of 100 µg. NS3 is a multifunctional viral enzyme containing an N-terminal serine protease domain that acts with the NS4A cofactor to cleave the viral polyprotein, and a C-terminal helicase/NTPase domain that unwinds RNA during replication, so the protein is widely studied as a marker of active HCV replication and as a target for direct-acting antiviral research. The antibody is validated for ELISA and Western blot, supporting detection of native and recombinant NS3 in transfected cell lysates and recombinant expression systems, and the unconjugated format allows laboratories to conjugate HRP, biotin, Alexa Fluor dyes, or colloidal gold to suit their own detection chemistry. Reconstitution in PBS yields a stable working stock that should be handled in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and the lyophilised form remains stable at refrigerator temperatures until the vial is reconstituted.
