Anti-Hepatitis C Virus Antibody [B2]

A mouse monoclonal antibody (clone B2) raised against Hepatitis C Virus, supplied by Antibodies.com as a lyophilised, unconjugated reagent of the IgG1 isotype for use in ELISA and Western blot. It is reactive with human Hepatitis C Virus, with concentration being reconstitution dependent.

The reagent recognises recombinant core protein C together with envelope protein M (residues 1–142 of the HCV polyprotein) and synthetic core protein C (residues 1–61 of the HCV polyprotein). It does not recognise recombinant or synthetic HCV non-structural proteins NS-3 and NS-4. The immunogen comprises synthetic peptides derived from the HCV core protein.

Purification is by Protein G affinity chromatography, and the product is lyophilised from 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline at pH 7.2. It is shipped at 4 °C and should be aliquoted and stored at –20 °C, with freeze/thaw cycles avoided. Reconstitution is performed with double distilled water; the epitope is described as Sp2/0-Ag14.
