Anti-Hepatitis B Virus pre S2 Antigen Antibody [D8]

The D8 clone recognizes a conformational epitope within the pre-S2 region of the hepatitis B virus large envelope protein (LHBs), the 55-amino-acid stretch that mediates hepatocyte attachment during viral entry. Supplied by Antibodies.com as 1 mg of purified IgG1 in a single vial, the antibody should be aliquoted upon receipt and stored frozen at -20 degrees C; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity. In western blot, D8 labels the LHBs glycoprotein band at approximately 39-42 kDa in lysates from HBV-transfected hepatocyte lines, and the clone is also validated for ELISA against recombinant pre-S2 peptides. Researchers use this reagent to profile envelope subfraction composition in chronic HBV carriers and to investigate neutralizing antibody responses that map to the pre-S2 attachment domain.
