Hemoglobin, the iron-bearing oxygen-transport protein of vertebrate erythrocytes, is a frequent marker in hematology, erythroid-differentiation, and red-cell pathology research. The Antibodies.com Anti-Hemoglobin (Hb) Antibody is a purified mouse monoclonal IgG1 reagent supplied at 1 mg per vial, unconjugated so it can be paired with HRP, biotin, or fluorophore-labeled secondaries of the researcher's choice. Common applications include western blot detection of Hb subunits, immunohistochemistry of splenic and bone-marrow tissue, ELISA-based quantification of hemoglobin in cell lysates and plasma samples, and flow cytometry characterization of erythroid populations. The reagent is well suited to studies of sickle cell disease, thalassemia, and anemia models, as well as broader characterization of erythropoiesis. For long-term stability, the antibody should be stored at -20 °C, ideally aliquoted into single-use portions to limit freeze-thaw cycling, and protected from light during handling. Its mouse host and IgG1 isotype are compatible with standard anti-mouse secondary reagents across chromogenic and fluorescence detection platforms.
