Polyclonal rabbit antibody raised against HEC1 (NDC80 kinetochore complex component), a 642-amino-acid protein that localizes to kinetochores and supports proper microtubule attachment during mitotic chromosome segregation. The Antibodies.com reagent is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a 100 µl aliquot, and it is unconjugated, allowing flexible labeling for downstream detection. It has been validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat samples, making it useful for studies of mitotic checkpoint function, aneuploidy, and HEC1 overexpression in tumor cell lines.

HEC1 is frequently investigated as a marker of proliferating cells and as a candidate therapeutic target in cancers such as breast, lung, and hepatocellular carcinoma, where elevated expression correlates with chromosomal instability and poor prognosis. Researchers use this antibody to monitor kinetochore assembly, assess spindle assembly checkpoint activity, and probe the role of the NDC80 complex in chromosome congression. The polyclonal format broadens epitope coverage across the protein, and the rabbit host provides an alternative when mouse monoclonals are unsuitable for double-labeling experiments on the same tissue section.
