Histidine decarboxylase (HDC) is the pyridoxal-5′-phosphate-dependent enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of L-histidine into histamine, expressed in mast cells, basophils, gastric enterochromaffin-like cells, and histaminergic neurons of the hypothalamus. This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against the human HDC protein and cross-reacts with mouse and rat orthologues, supporting translational studies that compare rodent models of allergic inflammation, gastric acid dysregulation, or neuroimmune signaling with human tissue specimens.

The unconjugated IgG preparation is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows. In western blot, the antibody detects the full-length HDC band; in IHC on fixed sections, it labels histamine-producing cell populations including mucosal mast cells and gastric ECL cells. Each vial contains 100 µl of antibody; titrate for the specific antigen retrieval and detection system in use. Recommended storage is -20°C in working aliquots, with protection from repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity. For research use only.
