HDAC1 (Histone Deacetylase 1) is a class I nuclear deacetylase that removes acetyl groups from lysine residues on histones and non-histone substrates, shaping chromatin architecture and transcriptional programs. This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com was raised against a region surrounding the E427 epitope of HDAC1 and is validated for immunohistochemistry (IHC) on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections.

The reagent is supplied as an unconjugated preparation at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide, at approximately pH 7.2. Each vial contains 100 µl of ready-to-use stock, suitable for dilution across multiple staining runs. Recommended storage is refrigerated; protect from light and avoid freeze-thaw cycles to preserve antibody activity.

By reactivity, this antibody detects endogenous HDAC1 in human, mouse, and rat samples, enabling comparative studies of epigenetic regulation across species. In IHC workflows, it produces nuclear staining consistent with HDAC1's localization to chromatin-rich compartments. The polyclonal format offers multi-epitope recognition, useful when targeting post-translational modifications or assessing expression heterogeneity within tissue.

Researchers apply this reagent to investigate HDAC1 involvement in cell cycle control, differentiation, and disease contexts such as oncology and neurodegeneration, where aberrant deacetylase activity is a frequent finding. It is supplied for research use only.
