Anti-HCCS Antibody

HCCS (holocytochrome c synthase) is the mitochondrial heme lyase responsible for covalent attachment of the heme prosthetic group to apocytochrome c during its post-translational maturation, a step required for functional cytochrome c assembly in the intermembrane space. This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against the human HCCS protein and supplied as 100 µl of affinity-purified IgG in unconjugated format, allowing flexible pairing with HRP-, fluorophore-, or biotin-labeled secondary reagents chosen by the end user.

Validated applications include Western blot analysis of mitochondrial fractions and immunohistochemistry on fixed tissue sections, supporting research into cytochrome c biogenesis, mitochondrial respiratory chain assembly, and X-linked disorders linked to HCCS disruption, including microphthalmia with linear skin defects (MLS) syndrome and related MIDAS spectrum phenotypes.
