Anti-HBZ Antibody

Encoded on the antisense strand of HTLV-1, the HBZ protein maintains viral latency, represses Tax-dependent viral transcription, and drives proliferation of infected CD4+ T cells, and it is constitutively expressed in adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATLL) cells. The Anti-HBZ Antibody from Antibodies.com is an unconjugated rabbit polyclonal IgG that recognizes this viral transcription factor and is validated for Western blot (WB) detection in human samples. Each vial is supplied as 100 µl of ready-to-use reagent.

This antibody is used in HTLV-1 research to confirm viral protein expression in infected cell lines and patient-derived primary T-cell samples. Typical applications include comparing HBZ levels between asymptomatic carriers and ATLL cases, and examining the role of HBZ in modulating host immune pathways and driving clonal expansion of infected lymphocytes. The reagent is reactive with human HBZ; species cross-reactivity outside human has not been established by the manufacturer.
