HARS (Histidyl-tRNA Synthetase) is a cytoplasmic aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase that charges tRNA with histidine during protein biosynthesis. This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com was raised against recombinant HARS and detects the human and mouse orthologs in both denatured and native contexts.
In western blot workflows, the reagent yields a band at the expected molecular weight of the target, while in immunofluorescence applications it produces cytoplasmic staining consistent with the enzyme's translational role. Because HARS is implicated in anti-synthetase syndrome and in Usher syndrome type 3B, this reagent supports studies of autoantibody profiles, aminoacylation biology, and inner-ear or retinal disease models.
The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated rabbit serum for standard immunodetection use. Researchers should titrate the reagent for their specific assay, as polyclonal preparations vary by lot. Storage at -20 °C in small aliquots preserves activity across multiple freeze-thaw cycles for ongoing projects.
