A rabbit polyclonal reagent directed against HAGH (hydroxyacylglutathione hydrolase), a cytoplasmic zinc metalloenzyme that operates in the cellular glyoxalase detoxification pathway, where it hydrolyzes S-lactoylglutathione to lactate and reduced glutathione. The product is supplied by Antibodies.com at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, packaged as a 100 µl vial that drops directly into standard western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows.

Because the antibody is unconjugated, end users retain full freedom to choose their own HRP, fluorophore, or biotin labeling chemistry. Characterization has been carried out on human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting comparative studies of glyoxalase II expression and methylglyoxal metabolism across cell lysates, tissue homogenates, and fixed sections.

HAGH is broadly expressed in the cytoplasm of most cell types and has been investigated in the context of oxidative stress, advanced glycation end-product formation, and metabolic disease models. Under denaturing SDS-PAGE conditions the target resolves at approximately 29 kDa, and the reagent is applied to formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections after appropriate antigen retrieval for IHC. Recommended storage at -20 °C in single-use aliquots preserves activity across repeated freeze-thaw cycles, with the included glycerol acting as a cryoprotectant.
