HADHB is the beta subunit of the mitochondrial trifunctional protein, an enzyme complex that catalyzes three steps in mitochondrial fatty acid beta-oxidation, namely 2-enoyl-CoA hydratase, 3-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydrogenase, and 3-ketoacyl-CoA thiolase activities toward long-chain substrates. Mutations in HADHB are associated with mitochondrial trifunctional protein deficiency, an inherited metabolic disorder that disrupts fatty acid oxidation and leads to clinical phenotypes ranging from hypoketotic hypoglycemia to cardiomyopathy.

This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against the HADHB target and is validated for Western blot and immunofluorescence applications. Reactive against human, mouse, and rat samples, it is supplied as a 50 µl aliquot in an unconjugated format, allowing flexibility in choosing secondary detection reagents and fluorophore conjugates for downstream experiments.

Researchers studying mitochondrial biology, fatty acid oxidation disorders, and metabolic disease pathways use this reagent to detect HADHB protein levels in cell and tissue lysates by immunoblotting and to localize expression by fluorescence imaging in fixed cells.
