Anti-HABP2 Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets Hyaluronan-Binding Protein 2 (HABP2), the circulating serine protease also known as factor seven-activating protease (FSAP). Supplied as 100 µl of an unconjugated 1 mg/ml preparation in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, the antibody is validated for Western blot applications and detects both human and rat HABP2.

HABP2 circulates in plasma and plays a dual role in the coagulation and fibrinolysis cascades, where it activates factor VII and prourokinase. The protease also degrades hyaluronan and other extracellular matrix components, linking it to tissue remodeling, vascular biology, and liver fibrosis research. Investigators studying FSAP deficiency, cardiovascular disease, or tumor stroma remodeling commonly use this reagent to probe HABP2 expression in cell lysates and tissue homogenates.

The unconjugated format is compatible with HRP- or fluorophore-labeled secondary antibodies of the user's choice. Aliquot upon first thaw to limit freeze-thaw cycles and store the vial at -20 °C; sodium azide is included as a preservative, so the reagent should not be added directly to live-cell staining protocols without prior dialysis or buffer exchange.
