This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets H2AFY, the gene encoding the histone variant macroH2A.1, a chromatin-associated protein best known for its role in X-chromosome inactivation, facultative heterochromatin formation, and the cellular DNA damage response. The reagent is raised in rabbit, affinity-purified, and supplied in an unconjugated format at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide as a preservative and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant.

Validated for western blot (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF) workflows, the antibody cross-reacts with H2AFY from human, mouse, and rat samples. Researchers use it to monitor macroH2A.1 deposition across differentiated chromatin domains, to map silencing at tumor suppressor loci, and to study senescence-associated heterochromatin foci (SAHF) and related repressive chromatin states in cell culture systems.

Each vial contains 100 µl of antibody, sufficient for multiple blotting or staining experiments under standard dilution conditions. The preparation should be stored at -20°C between uses, kept on ice during active work, and protected from light to preserve long-term activity through several freeze-thaw cycles.
