Raised in rabbit against the GTF2H2 subunit of the general transcription factor IIH (TFIIH) complex, this polyclonal primary antibody is supplied by Antibodies.com as a 50 µL aliquot of unconjugated IgG. GTF2H2, also known as p44, is one of nine subunits that assemble into TFIIH, a multifunctional complex that supports RNA polymerase II transcription initiation and drives the local DNA unwinding step of nucleotide excision repair (NER). Loss-of-function variants in the GTF2H2 gene have been reported in patients with trichothiodystrophy and related DNA repair-deficient phenotypes, which makes the encoded protein a target of interest in studies of transcription-coupled repair and genomic stability.

The reagent is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human, mouse, and rat samples, covering the species most commonly used in NER and transcription research. Because the antibody is unconjugated, it can be paired with any HRP, fluorophore, or biotin secondary reporter of the user's choice, giving flexibility in detection chemistry. Aliquot on receipt and store refrigerated to preserve activity across multiple freeze-thaw cycles.

Suggested applications include confirming GTF2H2 expression across cell lines, probing TFIIH complex integrity in response to UV-induced DNA damage, and characterising p44 distribution in tissue sections by IHC. Each vial contains sufficient reagent for routine blotting and staining workflows in a standard research laboratory.
