GTF2F1, also known as RAP74, is the large subunit of general transcription factor IIF and a core component of the RNA polymerase II pre-initiation complex. It supports promoter melting, start-site selection, and the transition into productive elongation, which is why antibodies against it are widely used to study basal transcription machinery, transcription-coupled stress responses, and the dysregulation of Pol II activity that occurs in many cancer and neurodegeneration models.

This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com was raised against GTF2F1 and is validated for Western blot and immunofluorescence on human, mouse, and rat samples. The polyclonal format increases the chance of detecting multiple epitopes across the full-length protein and its processed fragments, while the unconjugated presentation gives researchers freedom to pair the primary with their preferred HRP, biotin, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary for either chemiluminescent WB imaging or multi-colour IF panels.

Supplied as a 50 µL liquid aliquot, the antibody is intended for research use only and is well suited to probing nuclear extracts for full-length GTF2F1 and its cleavage products by Western blot, as well as visualising the nuclear distribution of GTF2F1 in fixed cells by immunofluorescence. Common applications include tracking TFIIF occupancy during differentiation, monitoring Pol II holoenzyme assembly in response to cellular stress, and characterising changes in GTF2F1 expression across matched tumour and normal tissue panels.
