This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets Glutathione S-Transferase Theta 1 (GSTT1), a Phase II detoxification enzyme encoded on human chromosome 22q11.23. The antibody supports research workflows in western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC), enabling detection of endogenous GSTT1 protein in human tissue sections and cell lysates.

GSTT1 catalyzes conjugation of reduced glutathione to diverse electrophilic substrates, including environmental carcinogens, chemotherapeutic agents, and halogenated compounds. Because polymorphic deletion of GSTT1 (the null genotype) alters individual susceptibility to chemical exposures, this reagent is frequently cited in toxicology, pharmacogenomics, and molecular epidemiology studies evaluating cancer risk, drug metabolism, and xenobiotic clearance pathways.

The antibody is supplied as a 100 µl liquid aliquot of polyclonal rabbit IgG, unconjugated for flexible pairing with user-selected secondary detection systems. Researchers commonly apply it to liver, kidney, and erythrocyte-derived samples, where GSTT1 expression is most prominent. Storage at 4 °C for short-term use, combined with aliquoting and freezing at lower temperatures for long-term preservation, helps maintain antigen-binding activity across multiple freeze-thaw cycles. Each lot is validated for reactivity with human GSTT1, supporting reproducible immunoblotting and chromogenic tissue staining experiments.
