Raised in rabbit against the glutathione S-transferase Mu 2 (GSTM2) protein, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied at 1 mg/mL in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, and is packaged as a 100 µL aliquot. The unconjugated antibody is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows, and it cross-reacts with human, mouse, and rat samples, giving laboratories a single reagent that supports comparative work across species and tissues.

GSTM2 is a cytosolic phase II detoxification enzyme that catalyzes the conjugation of reduced glutathione to a broad spectrum of electrophilic substrates, including environmental carcinogens, lipid peroxidation products, and several clinically important chemotherapeutic agents. Research teams use this reagent to map GSTM2 expression in liver, skeletal muscle, and neural tissue, where the enzyme contributes to cellular defense against reactive oxygen species and to the clearance of damaged proteins. Because GSTM2 levels are frequently dysregulated in tumor tissue and in drug-resistant cancer cell lines, the antibody is also used in cancer biology, toxicology, and pharmacology studies that link glutathione-dependent metabolism to disease phenotype and drug response. For handling, store the vial at -20 °C, aliquot to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light to preserve antibody activity over long-term storage.
