The Antibodies.com rabbit polyclonal reagent targets Glutathione S-Transferase Alpha 3 (GSTA3), a cytoplasmic phase II detoxification enzyme that catalyzes the conjugation of reduced glutathione to electrophilic substrates and also carries out steroid double-bond isomerization, including the conversion of androstene-3,17-dione to testosterone. GSTA3 expression is studied in prostate, breast, and hepatocellular cancer research, in toxicology screens, and in steroid-metabolism workflows.

Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum raised in rabbit, the reagent is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human samples. Polyclonal antibodies recognize multiple epitopes across the target, an advantage in denatured lysate work and in fixed tissue sections where antigen masking can reduce signal from monoclonal reagents. The unconjugated format leaves secondary antibody choice, detection chemistry (HRP, alkaline phosphatase, or fluorescence), and chromogen or fluorophore selection entirely to the end user.

Store the polyclonal stock at -20 °C and prepare working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles of the antiserum. Standard workflows pair this reagent with citrate-buffer antigen retrieval for immunohistochemistry and with SDS-PAGE separation of whole-cell lysates for Western blot, with the rabbit host species permitting clean co-staining alongside mouse monoclonal antibodies in multiplex immunofluorescence panels.
