Raised in rabbit and affinity purified against an immunogenic peptide from human GRK1 (Rhodopsin Kinase), this polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as a 50 µl liquid at 1.0 mg/mL in phosphate-buffered saline (without Mg²⁺ and Ca²⁺), pH 7.4, containing 150 mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide, and 50% glycerol. Validated for both Western Blot (WB) and Immunohistochemistry (IHC), the unconjugated antibody is recommended for detection of endogenous GRK1 in samples derived from Human, Mouse, and Rat, and is affinity-purified using the immunogen as the capture ligand. The reagent is shipped on cold gel packs at 4 °C; once received, it should be aliquoted and stored at −20 °C in single-use fractions to minimise freeze/thaw damage that can compromise polyclonal performance. The 50% glycerol cryoprotectant and the mild 0.02% sodium azide preservative together keep the antibody stable through repeated use, while the IgG-only polyclonal population ensures broad epitope coverage of the GRK1 target across retinal and non-retinal tissues, as well as in cell-based lysates and fixed sections. For Western blotting the reagent is typically used at 1:500–1:2000, and for IHC on fixed sections at 1:50–1:200, allowing sensitive detection of the ~63 kDa rhodopsin kinase band in retinal photoreceptor preparations and in heterologous expression systems.
